Only if going between carrier and unlock firmware otherwise just use the latest Odin.

This not for Root more for going between stock Samsung firmware like carrier or unlock. Maybe just want get the update that didn't reach your phone yet .

Please I need help on my new samsung s24 ultra. My uncle in the US sent me a Samsung s24 ultra, but it is network locked by the verizon network. I have been trying to research a couple of ways to unlock the device, but I need some clarification, so any support will be very helpful. Her now I have some questions.

1. Does flashing a new firmware help me solve this issue?
I have downloaded the SM-S928U1 firmware, but from all posts and videos I have read and watched, this is a US based firmware, so will this unlock the network?
2. I am currently downloading the firmware for my country that has the OXM csc which from what I've read, is a general CSC. I am currently in Nigeria, this is why I am trying to use the general CSC.

So I will appreciate any advice on the best route to follow.

Flashing to Samsung U1 unlocked firmware will help with getting software updates but won't unlock your device to work on other carriers , you would need to unlock your sim first.
