OEM chargers stopped working

BTW I will be sure to change the title when I get home, thanks for reopening. I've tried several different cables, and I also have 2 Samsung fast chargers and both stopped working at the same time which leads me to believe it's the phone. Another user experienced the same issue at the same time, he exchanged the phone and the new phone works fine. I'm hoping other people will chime in because if you look at the Samsung power sharing app in the play store there are a **** ton of 1 star reviews describing similar problems.

Mine is doing the same thing

When did yours start screwing up? Just to be clear since there's a similar thread on a different problem, the problem I'm having is that the OEM Samsung fast chargers stopped working completely last week. They won't charge at all, not even slow charge. Do you remember installing or updating any specific app before the trouble began?

So I've had my Note 5 for a few months now and up until now it's been an absolute pleasure to use. Last week the included fast charger suddenly stopped working. I hadn't installed any new apps that I can remember, and I don't think there were many app updates that day either. I plugged my phone into the Samsung fast charger that came with the phone like I've done every night, and it started beeping over and over as if the micro USB plug had a short in it. I unlock the phone and there is a message on the screen saying something like "If you want to power share you need to download the Samsung Power Sharing app.". I went to the Samsung app store and downloaded it thinking it would solve the problem. Nope, nothing changed. I tried another Samsung fast charger I had lying around and it did the same thing. Tried a different outlet, same thing. So far I've tried restarting, safe mode, reinstall/uninstalling the Samsung power sharing app, nothing is working. The only way I'm able to charge the phone is by using a generic third party USB charger. It's odd because any non-fast charger works fine, it's the two Samsung brand fast chargers that are having this problem and there's no way both of them shorted out on the same day. I really like the fast charging feature and I would like to have it back, this phone ain't cheap. Judging by the number of terrible reviews for the Samsung power sharing app, other people are experiencing this issue but I've been unable to find a fix online. Any help would be appreciated. This is the T-Mobile Note 5 running 5.1.1

Exact same thing happened to my 2nd Note 5. Original was replaced under warranty due to a display issue now the 2nd device that I had for like 8 days started this. AT&T is sending me a 3rd device and if that don't work, I'm gonna smash it like they did in Office Space.

Factory reset does not work at all. Both of my OEM Samsung fast chargers work no problem on my Note 4 as well as my USB drive. Nothing works on the Note 5.

I've found the quality of the cable to be not so great. I connected it to my computer the other day after only owning it for two months and the connection kept connecting and disconnecting.

Some of these bugs are the reason I left my note 5 already. I love the phone and hope an update will fix the fast charging bug and WiFi cell standby issue on Verizon. For now I carry a moto x pure waiting on bug fixes. I feel like I waisted 700$ plus on this unreliable device

I was bothered a bit by the fast charging bug, but my first two Note 5 devices had a Bluetooth bug. I exchanged them under my warranty with T-Mobile and finally got (the 3rd copy) a unit that has no issue with the Bluetooth or fast charging. I have no doubt there will be an OTA fix for both issues eventually, One thing is for sure, it is not inherent in the Note 5 it varies from unit to unit. The Bluetooth bug was far more problematic than the fast charging issue.

I wouldn't let the fast charging bug prevent me from enjoying the device, I wouldn't have exchanged my phone if that was the only issue. Two reasons: First, fast charging isn't really that much faster. Second, I don't think fast charging is healthy for the longevity of the battery. Fast charging will inevitably shorten the life of the battery.

I have my Galaxy S5 on standby, I bought the Note 5 as an experiment while I took my sweet time fixing a software glitch in the S5 thinking I would return the Note 5 after the S5 was setup just the way I like it. One problem - I fell in love with the Note 5. It is so much faster, so much slicker than any device I have looked at, and with the stylus it is invaluable to me in my small business. Some of the notes I jotted down on the run have been extremely important to my financial well being. The Note 5 far from being a "wasted $700" it has actually paid for itself and then some.

I get it ..I love the device as well. However I can't always charge my phone because of the WiFi and cell stand by bug. My wireless charging stopped working and I had to factory reset to correct it. I hope a software update does fix it. Believe me I love Samsung pay and the S pen rocks. Now they just need to make it work correctly all the time

Thanks for the responses guys! Just to be clear I've tried several different cables, and one of the OEM chargers that quit working was the Note 4 charger which has a thicker cable.

I uninstalled updates for samsung galaxy apps in applications settings and fast charging worked again. The updates seem to be creating a conflict with usb port.
