I would like to put forward myself for this prestigious award for the following reason.

Back in November last year I purchase a Nokia 7.1 phone. This came with Oreo out of the box and I was really happy with my new toy. Everything worked like a dream, including a compass app that I had used for a number of years before.

In late December Pie was pushed to the phone and again I was really happy with the upgrade.

Then a couple of weeks ago I tried the old compass app. It suddenly became totally useless, swinging rapidly all over the place. I blamed the Pie update and called Nokia all the names under the sun. I even downloaded other compass apps and they all behaved in the same erratic way.

Then I suddenly realised. At the same time that the Pie update arrived, I had purchased a new flip case with a MAGNETIC fastener.

Hence my nomination for the afore mentioned award.

Can anyone top that?

I don't know why the title starts with asterisks, it was just another word for "Fool" starting with the letter " I ".

LOL, that's the phone equivalent of thinking you lost your sunglasses when they're just sitting on the top of your head.

It's the forum software trying to discourage flaming/trolling language. There's a bunch of insulting words it'll bleep out, even if it's meant to be self-deprecating. It can be pretty silly -- I recently saw someone mention the actor [short for Richard] Van ****, and it bleeped out his first name!

The only instance of personal idiocy that comes to mind is when I was testing Google's Find My Device on a newly-acquired tablet, and got the response "In your hand". It was most embarrassing.

You can be sure that there are many other such instances, mercifully forgotten.

Chuckles! We all do stuff at times that seems reasonable and in retrospect we wonder what we were thinking...
