Off center keyboard...

The keyboard to my Nexus 4 seems to be centered to the screen rather than the phone. Hence my left thumb hovers over the left edge of the spacebar, buy my right thumb hovers over the period just to the right of the spacebar. And this often makes me type periods between words instead of spaces that I have to perpetually go back and edit.

Do I need to grow a longer right thumb or is there some way to adjust this?

You can use various other keyboards by downloading it from playstore. The one I use is swift key keyboard
