Offering Root Service!

Haha don't know if I would go that far, I just short tracked it for you. Much like you are doing it for other people now to show them it's not as scary or invasive as it sounds. I think it's cool as hell you're helping people still, I did that for a lot of people and wrote up articles about it etc. The only person I wouldn't help is Tony Bag O' Donuts. He has yet to buy me a beer yet after all the grief help I've given him. lol.

I just stumbled in here and realized who it was! Long time since I talked with you, you disappeared off my scope for awhile. Been busy with work etc.

haha Tony i helped him once ... go to see you here, hit me up

A big THANK YOU to Upstreammiami for getting my GN rooted. After reading all the looping issues people were having decided to wait until I read this thread this morning. He got me rooted and running.

Strange thing on my phone that we found is that my phone came out of the box UNLOCKED. I thought it was locked but unencrypted. Turns out mine was already unlocked. Wonder how many others are being sold unlocked?

You are an amazing man! I never thought I would see an rdp to root another persons phone. Now thats service! And an awesome idea!

I used to do it back in the Hero days... with the introduction of One-Click solutions, no one wants to learn anymore.

I've always rooted my own phones but the rash of loops being reported in here made me shy off doing that right away. Decided to let Upstreammiami do his thing and I'm glad I did. Now rooted and I don't 'know if my nerves would have survived doing it myself on this phone because of ICS being so new.

Ah man rooting is the most fun! Nothing like that rush or opening up a world of possibilities for your device. Then you turn into a junkie and can't stay away from mods. I'm probably about to get started on mine here in a few because I need something to do now that I'm finally home!

funny thing is i dont even have this phone yet lol

If you guys are thinking of installing one of the only custom roms available for the cdma gn, I suggest you do it right after you unlock the bootloader. Its the Revolution rom. Reason is the author says to flash a wipe script before flashing the rom. This will wipe your device again.

Learned the hard way because after unlocking, I set up my phone pretty good then did the wipe script thing and arg I had to set up again. So in all I have set this phone up 3 times and you know what a pain it is. Titanium helped somewhat but still.

Great experience with upstreammiami rooting my Thunderbolt. My question is, does this wipe the Gnex?

Unlocking the bootloader will wipe everything. This is not the same as rooting. The root part is painless.
