Office 365. Not real Impressed

I finally pulled the trigger, as they say, and purchased a subscription for Office 365. I don't necessarily mind paying for apps as these people put in a bunch of time developing and fine tuning so should be compensated for it. HOWEVER, I was very disappointed when I opened PowerPoint for Android and discovered a lot of limitations like no animation, only a few different fonts and everytime I open a ppt file and begin a slide show, the ink setting comes on so when I tap on my screen to go to next slide I get little ink dots on my slides but it doesn't move to the next slide. The ink comes off because I don't save it with the ink but that's just no good. I haven't tried Word or Excel yet. I'm new to One Note and kinda like it. Syncing between my Tab and phone is nice but typical Microsoft makes you go thru too many steps to get that done. I paid for one month so I'll keep working with it. If anyone has experience with the Android version of Microsoft Office I would appreciate any suggestions, ideas etc..... I'm still a big fan of Hancom so I'll see what happens

It's great to have options. For some of us there aren't many...personally I must have absolute compatibility with word and excel files in emails and for word files full track changes and comment support is a must. Hancom falls far short in the track changes department so it serves me no purpose and therefore I uninstalled it.

I rarely use PowerPoint so I have no input there but I do find the features in word and excel a bit basic. It serves me just fine since I never do production work on my tablet, I merely demand that I can review work of others while out of the office.

Thanks muzzy. I understand about options. I mainly use PowerPoint but Word and Excel are important. I'm hoping Microsoft will get some updates soon. I want to like this app, if that makes sense. There are issues with Hancom too.

Yeah. The irritating part is having to pay a subscription fee for what essentially amounts to an end product. Over the years Microsoft has changed the look of the office applications more than they changed the functionality of them, and I'm not sure that justifies the subscription fee model.

I agree with muzzy. I have given up on trying to do stuff on Excel on my 12.2 tablet. Plus having to pay a subscription fee to save the files is dumb. I don't mind paying for a program ONCE if it works but it's not ready for Android.

Fortunately the Office 365 subscription is month by month. I'll see how I feel at the end of the first month then decide if I want to keep it. I like One Note but I'm not paying $7/mo for a note app. There are dozens of free ones that work just as well. I use Evernote and it syncs between my tablet and Note4 just fine.

I am using One Note from the Play Store. I can't remember if I bought it or not but I do not have a subscription to 365. Is the One Note in 365 the same as the One Note that is available in the Store? Just curious...

It probably isn't always possible, but if you have access to a PC with Excel and Word on it, have you considered using something like splashtop to remotely run your pc from the GNP 12.2?
So long as the PC has not been shut down, and you have access to wifi, you can run Excel installed on your PC but view and control what you're doing on the tablet. Of course the spreadsheets you want to work on would have to be on the PC to start with.

True, not as convenient, and relies on good wifi. Price we pay for choosing an android tablet over a windows surface, I suppose.

The funny thing is, I also have a surface pro (original) but it very rarely leaves the house. I do often remote into it from the Note Pro.

I'm pretty happy with the office apps on Android tablets, but my needs are basic and I mostly use Excel and Word. I already had the Office 365 subscription for my other computer needs.
