having seen a few adds and banners proclaiming offfice 365 on android i thought perfect, WRONG !! i used a VPN app to allow me to actually buy/install it, but it won't recognise the galaxy S4 as a device it can be installed on to. i read elsewhere on this forum that it won't work with samsung devices cos of kies or something like, is this correct?? will it install on any android device that isnt samsung and if so what devices out there are comparable to the S4 ?? or option 2, will samsung do something to make office 365 work on their machines in the near future?? :'(

Welcome to Android Central! Are you able to install Office Mobile for Office 365 directly from Google Play? You shouldn't have to use a VPN to install it. But in order to use Office on your Android device, you still need to purchase the Office 365 subscription.

i'm in the isle of man just off the coast of the UK and it wouldn't allow me to install the app because it said it wasn't available in my region which is why i tried to use a VPN masking app to fool the S4. after i installed the vpn thing it still wont let me use the app in my country so i think i probably haven't used it correctly. also i tried to install from the microsoft site so it was probably looking for a windows device which is why it wouldnt recognise the S4. i will try a different ***** proof vpn cheaty thing and see how i get on, but i still read somewhere it doesn't work on samsung devices with kies at the minute?????

It finally opened up to be installed in Canada. So now I have an apk as well that I can share with you (was updated a couple of weeks back). inbox me or hit me up on g+

sussed it thanks guys, i gave it my brother who used a different VPN changer and managed to get it installed. put my 365 details in and it works fine. my only gripe is that you can only seem to save anything to the cloud and not the SD card. but once you have downloaded something it is accessable even with the data and wifi turned off, and you can open documents from the SD card in office. excellent news as i can now move on from my Ativ S to the S4.

I have an Office 365 subscription. It allows me to install Office 365 on up to 5 desktops and up to 5 mobile devices.

I installed it on my two desktops and one laptop, as well as my Samsung Galaxy 2 phone. But my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, the Play Store says, is not compatible, even though it's an Android device.

If anyone's found a workaround, I'd be grateful to hear it.

Would this work to install Office 365 on a Galaxy Tab 2? If so, I'd like to try it. How can I get in touch with you?

I'm on the fence about getting either Office 365 or 2013 for one of my PC's (2 already has 2010), having it on mobile is pretty nice but I'm not a fan of storing files on cloud as I transfer them via encrypted flash stick.

You should be able to try it via MS website with the PC version of Office 365 and probably login with the mobile version.
