Official 6/28 Update Thread - Discuss Here

I've had DRASTICALLY improved battery life since the update. I've made a few calls, send texts, and browsed the web since 8 AM this morning, still at 84%

this is what i call an update.
now i can leave my phone on the table and just tap around without having to pick it up now... awesome. dunno how they did it, but theyve def fixed the grounding issue.

UI feels snappier as well. Didnt see much of an improvement to my wireless G setup/linksys wrt54g2/wifi analyzer. But im sure the funsies is with the wireless N spec.

Cant wait to see how my batt life stacks up.

Can anybody else confirm that the long-tap during texting is broken with this update? (E.g. holding to get question marks and exclamation marks.) Because that's enough to keep me from updating.

Mine seems to work fine.... both with the stock keyboard and Swype...

Updated here in Colorado. No issues. It was a scary process & took a while, given the reports of some bricks.

Before starting, I set my screen timeout to 10 minutes just to make sure it wouldn't turn off in the middle. I also made sure I had plenty of battery.

Anyway -- 15 minutes & multiple reboots later it was fine.

New issue reported here.

I have WiFi turned on and my phone prefers the 3G network over WiFi. To get it to go to WiFi, I have to turn it off, and then back on. When my phone is idle for a little bit, it seems to drop the WiFi connection. Anyone else experience this?

Where did u get that info? Thanks!!

HTC, I have a new replacement coming tomorrow for dust under the screen, I updated this afternoon. Then I got home and a new update was offered. So I installed it and now its a brick. So I emailed back HTC and he replied right away and said there are problems with it, and said they were going to hold it.

That would make sense as I have yet to get it in KC. Just tried manually a couple times.

I also tried their support line just to see if I can get to turn back on and he also confirmed it. So I would wait for a bit to update for those who have not yet.

Its been like 20 minutes without my evo and I'm already starting to get the itch.

just talked to the 4 other evo users i know around central, oh and none received it....

Took me 5 minutes. Booted right up after it was installed. No difference in WIFI speeds but I noticed i get reception farther than I did before. The issue I've been having syncing to my computer is still there. It was never mentioned so I'm no surprised at all. Overall kind of eh about the update. Just glad to be able to use my phone when it's not in my hand.
