Official 6/28 Update Thread - Discuss Here

i was at 12 hours last night with 40% left, with moderate usage including streaming music for an hour or so. Battery life is greatly improved after the update on my EVO. Also the screen issues seem to have disappeared!!
 
My Evo is running fine after the update as well. I never experienced WiFi problems in my house so not seeing any dramatic increases in signal.

Things are running smoothly!
 
You dont have to stay (your line) but the other lines do as they are STILL UNDER CONTRACT. There is not contract clause that states "if you are not happy you can get out of your contract."

You (or someone) signed it. Either pay the ETFs and leave, or deal with it.

I also don't see why it is a big deal. Go return your bricked EVO, get on a waiting list for a new phone and activate an old phone or get a loaner phone until they get you one in. **** happens, thats life.


So is this forums only for happy stories? Who the **** are you to tell me that I can't vent my frustrations of this experience?
 
And before another smartass chimes in, I understand that stuff happens but the problem is how Sprint and Radio Shack are handling this situation with no freaking solutions! I'm fortunate enough to have a phone to use but it was my old phone that I was giving to sister in law and now I have to take it back.
 
The gallery is way faster now, notification bar is smoother and more responsive and no more grounding on couch which wasn't an issue before....haven't noticed battery life improvement.

Heh, you said it yourself. Your issue is with Sprint and Radio Shack. This is a forum for the Evo.

Yes, they are intertwined, but there's nothing anyone here can do about Sprint/HTC not having enough phones in stock.

They will give you a POS loaner flip phone until they get an EVO in stock for you, you dont have to take anything back from your sister in law. What do you want for them to pull a Genie out of the back and have him magically create and EVO for you? If the store is sold out it is sold out there is NOTHING Sprint can do to handle it better until they get more in stock! Deal with it.

Yeah, I actually lost battery life :(

I was running overclock widget to underclock when the screen was off. Helped a ton. Now at 50% and got the phone off the charger at 7:30 this morning. :(

Probably because you were acting immature like you are now, I wouldn't offer you anything either and tell you we were sold out of EVOs and wouldn't be getting anymore for at least 6 months.
 
Lost Favorites Widget

I lost my favorites widget which I happen to like a lot. It is not even available in the add widget folder. Anyone else have this and if so have you gotten it back?

You're assumptions are off, I was professional to all encountered but 800 Sprint says to go to a store "see if they can fix it and if they can't we will overnight you a phone" Ok so I go and they can't fix it and the manager gives me a sob story with no replacement. So I call 800 Sprint back again and they refuse to honor their deal and tell me "You need to go to Radio Shack" so i go and Radio Shack tells me "There's nothing we can do for you".

So that wouldn't frustrate anyone?
 
I downloaded the update but haven?t installed it yet. Since Sprint pulled the update, could I still install it or should I wait?

install it. it worked fine for me and all my friends. faster interface, better battery life and I gained way better wifi signal in my house. awesome update!:p
 
I downloaded and installed the update yesterday morning and no issues yet. I didn't have any screen grounding issue or noticeable screen lag so those were non-fixes for me.

I was happy before and I'm still happy now, considering the update didn't brick my phone.
 
My phone seems faster, no lag and wifi is better. No problems here. And I'm going on 10 hours with 50% battery left.
