Official 6/28 Update Thread - Discuss Here

Updated.

Initial impressions: Seeing a healthy boost in WiFi reception. Radio is still coming up as GSM auto (prl) in the test menu "Select radio band" option.

I'll be testing performance and battery life today.

ho w do i access the test menu? thanks

grounding issue

I could be wrong, but I think this fixed the grounding issue for me. I'd been having sporadic issues (loss of screen responsiveness when not holding phone, particularly if phone was at an angle, like on a bed). I'm not at home so I can only test it on my work desk, propped up at funny angles with a pencil, but it seems to have fixed it. I'm using the Draw! app to check the responsiveness of the swipes.

this would be huge if it's fixed. not everyone reported it, but it was causing real havoc for some users, myself included. It made pinch-zooming impossible as well. HTC had asserted that it was a software issue, which was a big relief.

anyway, i'll test more when I get home. I'm sure others will start piping in if the fix is real.

The 30 fps cap is still there :(

I was hoping HTC would fix this...now im not so sure.

Glad they fixed other issues however.

HTC has all ready said the 30 fps is a hardware issue not a software/firmware issue.... It's not going to get fixed (or at least from what they say)

it did do this prior to the update, at least on mine.

qu1nn

I swear this never worked on my phone. It works now. I always had to open my morning newegg email, then click the link to open the web version in order to get it to open sideways in the web browser.

Not sure if this is NEW or not

but adding a widget, theres an option (Get More HTC Widgets) which brings up 7 new widgets you can download and add. Just got thhe dice, coin flip, Tip Calc and Today in History widgets.

Scrolling seems to be a lot smoother on mine, especially going through the app drawer. The widgets were initially messed up, but re-added them like Slideways said.

It fixed my screen issue. I can now use the screen without having to hold the phone in my hands. Thanks HTC/Sprint!

Right, but then many thought the CS reps were just BSing when the DroidX came out showing HDMI and 60fps PLUS XDA devs already broke the limit for HW ver 0003 showing that it was a 100% software limit at least on that version...who knows.

Was already there, I'm sure many people hadn't noticed it though so it probably is good to point that out.

Did it do this for anyone else?
I can no longer long press a key in texting, like it does not bring up the exclamation mark when I hold down "a"... This is very upsetting... I have tried three reboots and one battery pull.

Gmail did support landscape before today's update. I know for sure since I didn't install today's update yet and I've been using landscape in Gmail for a while.
