I just updated to this one (did not update to previous release). Looks good! To EVERYONE who had the screen grounding issue, it is NOW GONE! haven't checked anything else as I could care less. never had any battery issues or any other other issues. Go get it while the gettins' hot bitchez! :+)

just updated (~31mb update)

hey everyone, new to the forums.

just updated my evo with the re-released update (~31mb) in minnesota. checked and downloaded through wifi. went smoothly, no hiccups or anything. took about 10-15 mintues like most people are saying.

things i have noticed since.
1. android wallpapers gone, but still have the one i was using installed (Nexus wallpaper), im afraid to change unless i find a better wallpaper i like.
2. scrolling seems to have smoothed out a bit. not as jerky/jumpy with short or long scrolls.
3. havent really noticed a wifi improvement, mainly cause i have only been near my router. will update when further tests are done.
4. noticed a different baseband, 2.05.00.06.10. i didnt check it before i updated, but i thought it was in the 1.xx.xx.xx.xx range. need confirmation of this.
5. evo was properly grounded before update, so i cant confirm this but it sounds like it did fix it for those that had that problem.

i believe this is about all i have noticed so far since the update. will report back if i find/notice anything else.

All I want is my update. Arggggggggggggggggggh very frustrating seeing everyone else get their updates. LOL! I have manually tried to update 100 times at least still a no-go. Are they rolling out updates by state or something?

I wish they would have also fixed the notification light. Blinking for 5 minutes and then stopping just seems like a bug to me, not a feature.

I know what's up with that, coming from the pre we had a frekin notification genius system...forever we had the blinking bright light. Now with the Evo in my pocket blinking green light only stays on 15 min. After that u have to manually check. I wish we had a subject in the forum about this crap. I was ready to return this. I'm staying 1 year with android then going back to PALM..

Look at the missed call app. It can remind you of all kinds of missed notifications, not just calls.

I have not had any issue at all. Things actually seam to be running faster (could be my imagination...)
WiFi signal appears to be better.
Battery life, not much of a difference that I can tell, but then again, I would consider myself a heavy user.
Overall... Very Happy!

Wow! I threw this up here while waiting for my retal car and this was the first chance I have had since then to check this thread! Never thought I'd be the first one to start this.

Well after the update all is well for me and the symbols still work! Best wishes to everyone else on there update and I'll get to see how well the battery improves tomorrow during my business trip to Sarasota FL.

Just put the update on my phone. Long touch to get ! works fine. UI feels crisper, but that could be because of the reboot. We'll see how battery life is tomorrow. I had trouble getting the P key on the keyboard reliably before, but that seems to be working fine now. WiFi and 3G signal strength seem slightly improved, but I have no empirical data to back that up. No complaints on this update!

Widgets Missing?

Has anyone else had a widget go missing? I lost my Favorites Widget. Not in the Widget folder any ideas?

Just updated to the latest HTC Software on my gf's Evo with no problems. Wifi still sucks. Pre Wifi much better. Has anyone tested the activesync fix? This is huge for healthcare companies that use PIN number security policies.

Yeah, the default people widget preloaded on the device is called favorites.

Took me a while to figure that out too because I wanted two separate ones.

Worried me at some points

Wifi is about the same with minor increases in some areas. Overall still really poor reception compared to when a Laptop will get 3/4 bars at twice the range.

Will watch for any other changes

No brick this time

I was among those who ended up with a brick following the last update. Fortunately, Sprint replaced my EVO (store had two on hand, both went to update victims).

I was very nervous (EVO is my only phone) but update went fine.

I don't know yet if there's any noticeable changes (had no issues before update) but relieved that phone is working.
