Google should release an Official Android Game Controller.

It could be bluetooth and usb rechargable like a PS3 remote. Put the drivers into the next OS release and let the devs go to town with uses for it.

A controller comparable to xbox/ps3 that has rumble/motion/analog sticks/etc. would be awesome.

Just plug your phone or tablet into your TV with HDMI and you got a game console or just use the screen on your device.

I would pay $50 for it.

This seems like a no-brainer to me and Google should get one out before Apple does.

I don't mean the phone or tablet being a controller.

I am saying a separate piece of hardware that controls your phone or tablet.

Kind of like how the Wiimote can work with Emulators but just have a standard controller that devs can code for.

well, i know one company makes a bluetooth keyboard specifcly designed for mobile devices, and you can get a keyboard for the galaxy tab, i know that much.

not sure about a mouse or whatnot.

what i am saying, is that these systems probably already exist, you just have to look for them.

Yes, the tech exists. Google needs to make a standard controller though. You cant let there be 20 different controllers out there and each games supports a different one.

I can see Apple releasing the icontroller and every dev jumps on it and Apple is legitimately competing in the console war now and Google has to catch up again. They need to be first with this.

yes but we aren't talking about a gaming system we are talking talblets and phones here.
you are comparing apples to oranges with the ps3 wii thing. they aren't full scale dedicated gaming systems like consoles are.

They could rush to be first but those controllers are only going to worth it on tablets anyway. There's people like me that just don't care to play intense games on a phone but I know there is also people that would love to see it. Google might just wait until apple releases one to see how good it sells.

Sent from my Optimus V running Cynogen 7

i agree, i mean, games are good, but i woudn't be playing Call of duty, or team fortress 2 on a 4 inch screen when i have a 22" monitor and a 30" tv.

That's where the hdmi cord comes in

again, why would i play it on a phone when i have a gaming pc and a console? infact, the phones power is actually LESS than a gaming console. the only game worth my time really is NFS shift on android. (the console version is better though) why on earth would people just pass on using those and favor a phone or tablet with an HDMI cord?. if they can do it like how windows phone 7 does it with playing the xbox live games on the phone, i may consider, but, if you are at home, and you already HAVE an xbox, why by pass it?

You are being closedminded. Hardware is getting Better. You can take the game with you. There are games that will only be on android or cheaper on android market. I am not saying it will better than ps4, only a competitor. A cheaper alternative, and another option for development to bring games to android.

well, i guess i am, because i'm not the kind of person who feels the need to use my phone every minute of the day. and as far as games, there already is games on the android market, so, you kind of like the way it is now? because i can name several pay and free games on the android market.

I don't want to turn this into an argument.

All I am saying is that not every game works well with touch screen controls. There are games that would play better with a controller and if Android had a standard controller available as an option it would only be a great thing for devs and users. Just because you won't get one doesn't mean its a bad idea/product. That is fanboy logic.

Yes that would be awesome. I tried playing angry birds on mu lcd tv with real hdmi app but a separate controller would be great.

To answer that question. Most people don't own a console, and even fewer own a gaming PC. Besides, Google is pushing for android gaming (see the xbox controller demo at I/O) including controller based gaming. The only problem is, they are probably looking for someone to make one with the ADK, or use Xbox/PS3 controllers.

They are, however, the most common gaming platform out there, despite not being dedicated to gaming ;)

HDMI or Google TV. Besides, CoD costs $60 and they are always making it more and more expensive. A GOOD mobile game costs $6. Which one will have wider market acceptance? Especially when CoD required a $200 console minimum. A good manufacturer gaming dock + controller would cost half that. Again, market penetration. Some things are "good enough".

You are a rariety. I agree, I don't play a ton of games on my phone/tablet when I have a triple monitor gaming PC. Doesn't mean all the android/iOS gamers do.

I hate to say it, but I don't think google will do this. I can, however, see this being a manufacturer package. Remember Webtop? Imagine a manufacturer saying here's a package with a high end gaming device, a TV HDMI dock, and a controller for games. I bet it sells, since it's only using android, and not a seperate OS like webtop.
