[Official] CyanogenMod 7 discussion

question, i'm currently running 7.0.2.1 with savagedzen 2.0.2 CFS kernel..

I'd like to bump up to 7.0.3 and use the same kernel (2.0.2).. is this possible?

Also, can i just flash over it with wiping both caches?

thanks!

Yes you can wipe both caches and not data so you don't have to set your phone back to your liking.

Once you flash 7.0.3.1 (7.0.3 was removed due to issues FYI) then go ahead and reflash the kernel

What Gapps would I need to flash with CM 7.0.3.1? Its been a while since I did and Im on build CM 7.0.2.1.

Ok, restored to a sense rom, everything went great. Then tried to restore back to the successful nandroid backup I just did and it goes through the restore process looks successful but ends with a message: sd-ext.img not found. The two most recent backups do the same thing.

After this if I try to reboot I get HTC EVO 4G white screen and that's it.

I guess I should just go to the latest stable release now, but am concerned my latest backups are not working. My SD card was quite full so maybe that caused the back up to fail (a failed message would be good though).

Any ideas?

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I'd been having very spotty GPS on CM7, from 7.0, to 7.0.2.1, to #62, it wouldn't work without network services. Made nandroid backup of my install, flashed Warm Z 2.2, did the ##GPSCLRX# fix, then nandroid restore back to nightly #62 and it works perfectly. Perfectly to the point of being able to turn in a circle in my apartment and have it pinpoint my location down to the way my phone is pointing.

As a side-effect, I now have a nandroid backup of a Sense ROM configured and fully usable should I ever need or desire to use one. Two birds.

Also, video chat in Google Talk works flawlessly too for me, tested a conversation between my Gmail account and my phone.

#62 has been horrible for me. I flashed it on Wednesday. 4G hasn't been working, the icon pops up, but the other radios don't turn off. Also, I'm not getting picture messages. They just won't download. I'm also using SavagedZen Kernel 2.1.0.

But honestly, I'm jumping to Virus's Sense 3.0 Rom when it comes out...hopefully tonight. :p

Hm, MMS isn't working to receive for me either.

Edit: Doesn't work on #64 either, in GoSMS or stock.

would love to stay with cya7 but for some reason every aosp gb rom I've used makes me basically lose data, unless I roam, except on the initial flash. After a few hours...poof. Done the prl deal..no work...guess Ill try again later..

Is anyone having problems with the stupid gmail app not sending emails? On nightly 62. It wont send the emails it just says sending and it never sends.-_-

Worked for me, I flashed to 7.0.3.1 though because I couldn't deal with MMS not working. Nandroid back to 7.0.2.1, then flash zip to 7.0.3.1.

Yup mms and gops doesn't work in 7.0.3.1 . I tried the gps fix with the msl reader and it didn't worked so I might be back to my warm two or some other gb rom.

why is it that im just getting a 1X signal...im running the latest CM7... 7.3.1.. Im reallyy getting upset with this ..i dont wanna go back to stock, and i havent ran any other ROM so any tips...

On the stock rom it never showed when you were on 1x or 3g. With Cyanogen it will let you know when you are on either one. That was one thing that had a lot of people confuse in the beginning with the stock rom.

Have you notice and difference in your speed? Example: how fast web pages are loading.
If you haven't seen any speed change then I wouldn't worry.

If you have notice a change then try re-flashing the rom.
