Still using an unrooted Evo 4G, and am I right to assume that I can now root using CM7, despite having the Gingerbread update on my phone? Or do I still need to use Revolutionary? TIA

Yes you will have to root your phone using the Revolutionary method before you can flash CM,

Trash the stock camera from the get go and use the MUIU Camera.

Thanks! I'll give that a try when I find the apk. In the meantime, I discovered that attempting to initiate a Skype video chat (which never does initiate) is what consequently causes the stock camera app to crash.

I did some quick searching and didn't see it, sorry if this is a duplicate post:

Does Cm7 support wifi downloading of mms? I know on sense-based roms this can happen but its been a while since I've been on cm7.

I finally flashed this after running Wam 2.2 for quite awhile. I'm running the latest stable release and have everything setup how I like it. I love the ROM, super fast and battery life is improved but there are two fatal flaws I can't resolve that I need to work as I use them daily. The first is the GPS, I know this was a problem in past iterations but I thought 7.1 had it totally fixed. It won't really find me at all, every once in awhile it'll lock in for a second but then it's gone again. The second problem is the wireless tether app. When I try to start it I get an error message that the tethering started with errors, in the log it failed at setting channel, setting essid, setting ad-hoc mode and activating wi-fi interface.

Are there permanent fixes for those two problems?

Here is something that a lot of people use to get their gps working. The Qualcomm drives is the one a lot have the best luck with. With I fixed mine these wasn't available, what I had to use was the GPSCLRX Sense Workaround.

Sorry for getting back to you so late but yeah just flash them through your recovery like you did for the google apps

Both can be installed at the same time. Flash the new camera with recovery and then delete the stock camera with TB.

I've done a search and can't find the answer....grrrrrr.. Just went to cm7, and can't get a device to pair with my phone now. Tried my old headset, my car r dio which used to pair, re-scanned for devices, everything. No luck. Anyone got a suggestion? I am finally having decent luck with my applications.... but this won't seem to happen ....

To fix my GPS, I just flashed the new GPS drivers. It worked awesomely. If you haven't already, give it a shot:

I just started using CM7 and I keep getting an error that says "process com.android.calendar " also get "process com.android gapps" FC, too...and my calendar won't load...any ideas. I wiped data, cache, and "dalchik", before flashing. I've rebooted and wiped cache/dalchik again w/o success...other things happening but these random FC's are bothersome. Also, no Swype and unable to open Amazon MP3 app. Thanks in advance, Mark Carter
