You should flash back to 2.1 first. Then apply the official update

I'm kind of unclear how to go back to 2.1 stock, since im on 2.2 via Sapphire 0.7.0?

I used SP Recovery to get onto Sapphire 0.7.0

Just flash the stock 2.1 rom using rom manager. Just as soon as I posted this I checked rom manager and its been pulled. Just use Google to find a link for ese81 Droid

So I just download this sbf file, copy it to my SD card and install it via ROM Manager?

After that go get the manual 2.2 update and follow directions.
