I did too. And it looks like I'm going to keep my little Shift and my unlimited data since the Merge won't be LTE-enabled.

Edit: Wait. According to this recent page on Droid Life (http://www.droid-life.com/2011/02/28/are-4g-lte-versions-of-the-htc-merge-and-incredible-2-in-the-works-or-at-least-being-tested/), the DM will be getting LTE...or at least an LTE version will be released...

There is a god lol.
