What's the advantage of odex or deodexed?

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like deodex is for hard-core hackers, which I am not.

Well, I still can't get RADIOs flashed. I even tried switching to RA recovery in ROM Manager and it said it flashed but when I reboot and go into recovery it is still clockwork. Hope i'm not f***ed.
