This is my first Android phone and I fear I may have been a bit clumsy when the OTA came my way. Fearing that Sprint might try something like this, I was smart enough to cancel it when I got the notification. Problem is, I get a bit OCD over waiting notifications and I tried to clear the notification. I don't remember exactly what I did, though I don't remember doing anything that seemed like I was okaying an install, but I don't remember doing anything to tell it to go away either. Now there is no notification, so I'm wondering if somehow I accidentally okay'ed the install? How would I know if I did?

You would have known, it would of prompted you for a download method and would of required a reboot.

why don't you want the patch for the SD card?

Run the software update again. If you did it, it'll say you're up to date; if not, well then.

Yeah me too OTAed myself .... now I huess we got to wait for the tech Gods to check it out and put out a new .zip.. I guess..

I'm sure a way to root will come about with the patch installed. If it was me, I'd rather have the SD fix and wait a little bit longer for root.

Apparently unrevoked already released their root and it supposedly works on ota'd Evos. Check out http://unrevoked.com/

I downloaded it but have not installed it yet until I hear from others :-)
