Oh No! G2 vs Nexus 5

I mean like a better camera with ois. Way bigger battery, bigger screen, button shortcuts, and we'll at least to me I love that the headphone jack is at the bottom

Don't forget the Nexus 5 only has a mono speaker vs the G2 stereo speakers, better front facing camera, thinner bezel, and the G2 also has an IR blaster...

I am getting the G2 but it does NOT have STEREO speakers. Everything else is true.

You're right, its confusing with conflicting reviews but it looks like one is a speaker and the other is a mic.

I would argue that the G2 software is better than the nexus plain.android

Really? from all accounts, other than Camera software and Knock on, most of LG's skin is bloatware. I really like the stripped down, vanilla Android experience, but to each his (or her) own.

I was just at Sprint looking at both of these and was blown away by the g2. The nexus just didn't seem as nice, I am talking from a pure physical standpoint only. I had every intention of getting a nexus but now I am up in the air. The other thing I am having difficulty overcoming on the nexus is the battery- I have told myself I would never go back to having a small battery after being saved by the note 2 a few times when being caught away from a charger for a long time unexpectedly. While I had deided the nexus was going to be okay- the g2 being there with a huge battery made me rethink the whole thing. That battery makes an enormous difference. But then vanilla android is so nice, and the way you can look up phone numbers directly from the dialer in kitkat is insanely awesome. Back and forth, back and forth.

All fair points. I decided on the G2. The advantages of the G2 are in the hardware. The advantages of the Nexus are in the software. It is easier to change the software of the G2 than it is to change the hardware of the Nexus.

anyone sold their Nexus 5 to move to the G2?

thinking about this myself, still not sure which way to go

I decided on the G2. Very happy with the battery life. Lasted me 17 hours yesterday, 4 hrs screen time, with 15% left! Great choice

I returned my Nexus 5. Better camera, bigger battery, bigger screen, and more storage on the G2. Only negative is bloatware. At least it can be disabled or hidden.
