So I have noticed lately that even when retain my ok Google keyword search phrases just like everyone else does, it doesn't kick in when my phone is is a few inches away from my mouth. It works a lot more reliable and consistently when my phone is about half an inch or do away from my mouth. Not even speaking louder or clearer fixes the trick. Has anyone else ever experienced this before? Thank you.

1 - How are you holding the phone when training? You should "train" and "use" in the same manner - distance from microphone, loudness of your voice, etc.

2 - Don't forget, you only need to train if you are using "Always On" mode, which not everyone does.

Yes I just retrained it again but what I did differently was I usually leave the phone a few inches away from my mouth but I'll place the phone stationary by itself on the nearby table or flat surface. I just tried again by holding the phone far away from my mouth as possible and that seems to be working so far. Interesting. I didn't think that actually holding the phone vs laying it down on a flat surface would make a difference at all.
