Ok Google Send Text Message Not Working

So I have a Pixel 4 XL and bought a Fossil Gen 5 today to pair along with it. The watch is running fine. However, I ran into an issue with the ability to send a text message via "Ok, Google..." Whereas, I say the complete command, I get the option to send or cancel the text message. I select "Send" but then I'm hit with an "Couldn't connect to phone" error. The watch is fully connected to the phone though.

I did a little trial and error, I opened my text messaging app (Google Messages) and was able to reply and send a text message directly from the app itself without any issues.

So I'm assuming the issue is most likely with the Google app itself. As I only run into this issue when I say "Ok Google"

Has anyone else had this issue and if you did, did you find s fix?

Does OK Google send... work without the watch, by just doing it from the phone? I use Google Messages and can send a message through all verbal commands with just my phone. I don't have a watch to test to see if would work though a device. Google has been doing a lot of tweaking with its permissions so I'm wondering if it sees this action as some kind of security thing...? It may be as simple as giving the watch interface access to your contacts or some other permission.
