OK Google with screen off?

Same here. OK when charging, nothing happens when screen off.

Here's the easiest way around this issue that I've found. Activate both Okay Google and S Voice, use S voice to turn phone on, and once on and S Voice is listening, simply say S VOICE OFF, and S Voice immediately turns off, you can now say OKAY GOOGLE without any conflict.

This DOES NOT deactivate S Voice permanently, it remains active in the background for the next use. I have an S6 Active and it works everytime.

I have found an app to fix the issue. Open Mic plus. It's fantastic and no root necessary..hope that helps. Just follow their directions.

Open Mic+ works ok with the screen off but not with "Smart Lock" unless I'm missing something ?

That sounded pretty promising, unfortunately deactivating "Smart Voice" does disable it permanently on my phone (Lenovo K6) and I can't find any setting to restart it automatically, like enable on lock for instance, which would work for our purposes.

Try this it worked for me. Go into settings -> accessibility -> Switch Access -> toggle to on position. Follow prompts to pick switch like the down-volume button. Test it and then it should work

Actually I just found it under "language and input" settings...
