I would suggest you get Folder Mount from Google Play. It will allow you to have full r/w access to your external SD card. I just rooted my sm-p600 as well. I'm still a bit paranoid about flashing the ROM even though I've done it dozens of times on my old Acer tab. 6 yr old+ and it runs Lollipop! - DeanoD

I have full r/w to ext sd card, I didn't need anything but SU. Am I missing something?

"Root Explorer" by Speed Software, will indicate read/write/access in linux/unix permission styles...

Looking for decent app or documentation on what are safe apps to delete with out compromising apps the may share common folder/files..

Titanium backup gives a fair guideline of the effect of Uninstall would have. Any that I doubted i frooze.

One additional app that I found worthwhile was multiwindow. It allows you to add additional apps to multitasking bar

Multi window was the main reason I rooted. I LOVE being able to add whatever I want to that great feature

Ok... I experimentally deleted some of the"Google" apps... And Google Play insists on reinstalling them and updating them... How do I stop this...

Well....... I finally got the root figured out and WAS happy with tablet..... BUT Saturday afternoon the case popped open from previous repair not done properly by shop and LCD screen (not glued in properly) slid loose ripping lock tab off connector and some how shearing off tiny connector cable on mother board, the cable that ties the three buttons together and lights the LEDS.... Right now I have a $500 (plus another $200 for replacement screen) pile of junk (again)...... I have not yet been able to find repair parts online....I am so frustrated at this point...... The product as Samsung makes it is still good in my mind, I am just dealing with idiots...
Not sure what my next move is...

Well.... Next step was taken... Like the note 10.1 2014 edition enough that I have ordered a new one....

Eventually I hope to find a competent shop/technician that can and will salvage old unit........

Sigh.........

Damn, such crappy luck. But a testament to the device that you still like it enough to get a new one. I still LOVE this device, and since I rooted , have loved the added flexibility. Also since replacing the battery, I'm getting a good solid 8-9 hours on a charge.

Good luck with your new Note. Hope you find competent techs to refurb the old one

ACK!!!... New tab has arrived....Can not move APPLICATION files from old tab to new tab with KIES3 because "serial numbers" of tabs do not match in KIES..... Yes I understand why, to avoid software (APK) piracy, but its killing me..... But my "data" (music, text files, graphics) did move over....Once it goes bad, it just never seems to end....Wish I had used something different than KIES for backup...But having many aps in amazon cloud saved me some headaches... Moral here is have good understanding how your "backups" functions...

I found a very good app that provides multiwindow without needing to root. Have a look MW-PEN app enabler Pro. Found a link on XDA. I have just upgraded to 5.1.1 Nordic rom and not yet keen to root. This app may just keep the note 10.1 2014 un rooted this time around.
