Hey guys a few questions about rooting...

I uninstalled all of the bloatware, now I just need to know what to do next.

Whats the deal with ROMS? Can someone point me in a good direction to learn more about them and learn how to install them?

What are the best apps to have when rooted? What are some good apps for tether, overclock, ect.

Regarding tether, is it free all the time when rooted? I know the TB gets like 5 months free tether or whatever but what about when that is up? Can you tether for free when rooted?

Thanks for the input guys!

Download Shootme, to get screenshots.

SetCPU to save battery (BTW , Can someone please post optimal settings for our Thunderbolts using SETCPU) ?

I just rooted last night lol so I'm a noob too :)

It's up to your preference I think. Just play around with the profiles ;) I have it set for when screen's off it only goes up to 400-500MHz but otherwise it's free to be at 1512MHz. When battery gets below 10% I cut it back down to 1GHz. If the battery temp goes over 41 degrees C (which I don't think it has) I cut it down to 800-1000MHz. It's been working great for me battery-life wise :)

I've had it on for 2 hours of unusually heavy use today and it's at 78%! This is the first day I've had it overclocked so I was going to post a graph of the battery life after the day is up.

Word of advice download ROM Manager and it will make your rooted life a breeze.

Agreed. Definitely. ROM Manager is pretty self explanatory for installing ROMs just be sure to "flash clockworkmod recovery" the first time you use it. The rest is pretty easy :)

Also some of my "must have" root apps are the usuals:

Titanium Backup (backup apps/data)
Root Explorer (the best file explorer for rooted devices IMO)
JuiceDefender (saves battery by turning off stuff when you're not using it)
Quick Boot (one-click reboot/recovery/bootloader/power off)
SetCPU (make profiles for CPU speed--you knew that)
ShootMe (screenshots)
Superuser (obviously)
Wireless Tether (once the free hotspot for the TB expires)

I'm sure there are plenty of others but those are the ones I like.
