Ok I've rooted with unrevoked and that's all so far. I have been doing lots of reading and I just want to double check myself
1. I'm already rooted
2. Download unrevoked forever tool and install through clockworkmod as a zip?
3. Download the updated radio (2.15?) and install through clockworkmod as a zip as well?
4. Download and install rom of my choice through rom manager and install through it as well (even though I can do it the same way as radio, unrevoked forever, correct?)
5. Install kernel of my choice, through rom manager as well?

This about right?

Also from what I understand with unrevoked forever it's just as easy to downgrade to 1.x radio if need be (maybe for the upcoming froyo ota?)
If that's the case anyone have a link or zip of the 1.x radio? Or does that PB31IMG.zip downgrade the radio as well when unrooting as instructed in jonamericas how to?

Thanks for the help. Just really don't want to brick my new phone!

Your steps seem to be correct just make sure you follow the directions when your updating your radio. I haven't looked into downgrading or unrooting but if you goole it you should get all the answers or if someone else reply's with a little more knowledge then me. I have no plans on unrooting for the official ota, all the new rom's will be based off that release and will be better.

Soudns about right, I haven't used enrevoked forever yet though. I would suggest doing a nandroid backup in between some of those steps.

oh definitely, i have already done that. i'm extremely excited but nervous at the same time to do this

The radio gets installed at hboot, if I'm not mistaken. Not in recovery.

It'll be handled as if it were a factory update.

Ok so do I rename it the PB31IMG.ZIP? That's what hboot looks for correct?

It should read PB31IMG.zip don't rename it. If it wasn't named that when you downloaded it I would check to make sure you have the right file.

I'm in the same boat my self. I have been rooted for a while but only flashed radio today and applied my first custom Rom. Can I go from one custom Rom to another using ROM manager and wiping? Or do I need to reply my stock back up first?
Thanks.

Yes, Rom manager allows you to go from one to another. I went sky 2.2 sense to 2.5 vanilla no problem. I did a nandroid between just for insurance.

i used nandroid now while im on 2.1...say i have an issue when i goto 2.2, if i use this nandroid backup does it bring me back to to the 2.1? but leave my radio on 2.xx?

it reverts your phone back to the state it was in at the time of the nandroid backup. Its liek a ghost image of the memory the way i understand it.

but if you use rom manager, you wont have any trouble. jsut be patient and let it do its thing. choose backup for good measure, it only takes an extra 5 minutes.

i guess the reason i thought the radio needed to be loaded in recovery is because of jonamericas guide, but...i noticed this is not with unrevoked forever install so i guess thats the difference now.

If Rooted

1. Make sure you have a recent Titanium Bakcup
2. Download the file PB31IMG.zip and place it in the root of you SD card
3. Power off the phone and then press and hold power + volume down to boot into the boot loader
4. Press and hold volume down and the power button to boot into HBoot
5. The phone will find, load, and check PB31IMG.zip. It will then ask you if you would like to update using the file
6. Press volume up to update the phone
7. Reboot the phone – you are now back to stock
8. Boot the phone, go through the setup (but don’t bother to set anything) and remove PB31IMG.zip from your SD card.
9. Download the file dinc_ota.zip, rename it to update.zip and place it in the root of your SD card.
10. Reboot into recovery (turn on USB debugging and run “adb reboot recovery” or power down the phone and then press and hold power and volume down)
11. Press volume down once, then press the power button to select Recovery
12. Press power and volume up to bring up the recovery menu.
13. Use the volume rocker to highlight apply update.zip, then power to run it
14. Reboot the phone when prompted.
15. Go to Settings > About phone > Software information > Baseband version and verify that it’s 2.05.00.06.11.
16. You can now re-root your phone by running Unrevoked 3 and make a new Stock + OTA Antenna backup in nandroid.

When I get to step 5, It finds the PB file but then says no image or wrpng image every time. I have used different files and it does every time, Any Ideas?
