OK, So I am rooted. Titanium back up installed, Rom Manager installed, Superuser installed, etc.
Now what?
I have downloaded a couple of roms through Rom Manager and I guess they installed but I don't see any difference.
Shouldnt' I be able to remove VZ navagator with root.?

I would suggest taking some time to read up on custom roms, specifically their installation procedures.

Just a word of caution, you can REALLY bust your phone up if you aren't careful and don't understand exactly what you are doing with custom ROMs. Rom Manager makes it really easy and it should be hard so people are forced to understand how to this all works.

Are you using a droid incredible as your sig may suggest? Rom installation on that device is different from a DX which is that forum you posted this in.

Ok it sound like you left out one item... Bootstrap Recovery, hope you nandroid backed up when you went to flash rom with Rom Manger.. By the way I have been having issues with ROM Manger so I just been using Bootstrap to flash roms.
Did you make sure to choose rom for Droid X because all that are listed are supported for all devices?

I have gone through the Droid X guide. Read many posts. Tried to install Liberty using Bootstrap but it didn't work

Save the Liberty Roms zip file to your SD card. (Dont extract the files... leave the folder zipped) Run Bootsrapp recovery. Navigate to the zip file and load it.
Are you sure youre rooted? Do you have SU access?

I have titanium back up installed and one back up done.
I have libertyx on the SD card (root) but when I tried to install from sd card, it didn't show up
I also tried to remove city id and VZ navigator using Titanium back up but it didn't work.
I do have SU access

Ok.

In order for this to work you will need to first be rooted (have super user access to your phone). A program called z4root will do this for you.

Then after you are rooted you should get the Bootstrapper and create restore with that then after you have done that you can choose the bottom option and reboot into CWM boot menu.

Once you are there you should go into "Backup and Restore" and create a nandroid backup. Titanium backup will not create a stock back up of your system.

After the backup is complete you can wipe your dalvik cache and bat stats. Then apply .zip from SD card. Choose liberty's zip file and run it.

Remember none of this will work if you are not rooted first. (Not the same thing as root of your SD card, completly different things.)
