Ok, I've read and read and read, downloaded the Hboot drivers, uninstalled vcast and anything else that I can think of that would interfere.

I booted into Hboot and plugged it in and checked to make sure the bootloader had the most up to date drivers.

Downloaded the latest Unrevoked3 and have tried with the phone up and running and in bootloader but still can't get it to recognize the phone. When the phone is on it automatically asks me to load software to help sync my phone by verizon and HTC, but of course I say no.

So, what am I doing wrong?

Oh, I downloaded Android SDK and unzipped it, however I don't really know what else to do with it?

Yes, into the root of your C:/ folder, if you are on Windows, that is. Mac I'm not sure...

Have you double(triple?) checked you have the drivers installed properly? I'm not really sure otherwise...

ok, just for future reference....I was fudging it up....I was in a hurry and getting impatient, and thought I had USB Debugging enabled....when in fact I did not....so once I figured that out, its been a breeze, I am not rooted, have wifi tethering and am enjoying a custom ROM.... and made my nandroid back up of course.

Thanks for the help guys! Yall were spot on.
