Ok to keep the plastic shield on?

Anyone going to keep the plastic shield on their 20? Is it ok to use?
It's like any other film screen protector you would buy, but it's installed almost perfectly. I leave mine on till it's too scratched up to deal with anymore.

That's really the main motivation for me. I like curved screens, but installing a screen protector and ensuring an absolutely dust free installation is incredibly difficult. If you (like me) would be bothered by looking every day at that one speck of dust that made it under your screen protector, then best to stick with the factory installed screen protector.

I'm probably one of the most ocd people when it comes to screen protectors. Probably part of the reason I stopped using them. I've spent hours preparing and installing some liquid install film protectors. Hot shower, blow drier the whole bit.

How come whenever I upgrade in store they take it off right away without asking. I just thought it was meant to come off lol.
I never let them open the box. I'm the only one popping the cherry on my new phone. It's part of the whole experience, an unmolested unboxing. Plus they don't treat the phone like I do. I never let an unprotected phone touch any potentially abrasive surface. The salesman just toss it around like a toy.

I had a sprint rep tell me he had to open and power it up. I told him absolutely not.

^ Me too. The way they handle it out of the box. No thanks.

If they give me some BS excuse how it's store policy...I just say cancel it.

Because the people behind the counter are trained for the masses that don't care, which is why a lot of members here don't allow them to open the box and will set it up themselves at home.
This is why I prefer having it shipped for preorders. I open it and set it up, etc.

Can't speak for the S20, but the factory installed protector has been on my S10 for a year and is just fine, no issues and can't tell it's even there...

I keep the one on the back on as long as I own it - the case protects that one. I'll keep the front on as long as it holds up. I haven't found any glass protector worth a doo doo in quite a while.

In the underpaid-poorly-trained-had-way-too-many-annoying-customers-today employee's defense, the 'good', actual protective film screen protector pre-installed on Samsung phones only started with the S10 line and not many phones do that, so yeah, they take it off automatically because they used to be factory-protection crappy stiff-film layers and their brains are also in auto mode. #justsayin

I am another that leaves it on, at least until the scratches bother me. For plastic, it actually is pretty good, has a decent feel. And better for the plastic to get those micro scratches rather than the screen.

Even if you don't like it and prefer another brand, at least leave it on until you order/receive the one you like.

I'm gonna keep the plastic on my Fold screen! lol

You guys don't need screen protectors. I haven't used one since the S5 and all my screens are mint. I peeled the one off my S10 they very first day of owning it. My S7 got used for three years straight without a protector and that includes working outdoor construction, dirt bike riding, putting it in my jet skis compartment, etc. The only reason I'm keeping the one on the S20 is for in case I return it, I want it exactly like it came out of the box. As soon as I make up my mind that I'm keeping it, the protector is coming off.

Well I did keep mine on and love it. Couldn't even tell there was one on at first. I took the back plastic off though. At least for now dont have to buy one and put it on.

Damn forgot about this, removing that thing now since decided to keep the phone.

Edit: Ripped off, what a feeling. So nice to feel and type on glass.
