Okay Google voice command inconsistent

My phone doesn't respond to Okay Google even though it's set up to do so from any screen. It works sometimes and others it doesn't. Do any of you have the same issue? I'm on the latest version of everything. It just seems really unreliable

Disable then re-enable the feature. Also, be sure you are speaking clearly into the device. I would also suggest going through the "training" setting (can't remember what it's called) where you say "OK Google" three times so that it learns your voice. Hopefully that helps.
