Okay my Sony Xperia X Performance fell through! What should I buy?

So my Sony Xperia X Performance cane in today which I had gotten a really good deal on but here's the problem and which is why I don't like buying used phones. The phone was indeed like to new in box but when I turned it on the entire bottom part of the screen was discolored badly. I know the seller had to know this and dis not disclose it. It could not have just all the sudden appeared during a three day shipping period. See it was hard to tell when you were not on a white page and I'll post a pic to show you how bad it was.

So fast forward to now. That phone is on its way back to him and although I have to wait until my money hits my account again I'm open to buying a "new" phone this time around instead of used and wanted to see what you guys would recommend I buy for roughly $275 and nothing more. Should I buy another Honor 8? Will $275 buy me an honor 8 still. I haven't checked their new prices lately. Any help on what to buy would be appreciated. I also thought about buying the model step below the X Performance i bought which is called the Xperia X. It runs a nice 650 processor and I just ordered a ton of accessories for the X Performance which is an identical build to the X model. Out of the two, which should I buy. I can get the Xperia X on sake right now for $229 which is a pretty good deal considering it brand new from B&H and it's a $450 dollar phone. Or on the other hand should I buy the Pearl color honor 8 the only color out if the top three color choice I haven't owned? Let me know your thoughts. Anyone have any experience using the 650 processor at all? If so how did you like it? I've used it once and recall it running very smooth and pretty fast. Out of the two a 650 processor and the Kirin 950 which is faster?

There was an honor 8 deal posted earlier today from jet.com. $226 for the 32 GB and $245 for the 64. Can't help you with the sd650 though as I have no experience. From what I understand it's a tad faster than the sd625 but not quite as power efficient.

Oh and that's a bummer about the Sony you had to return. Did the seller think you would not notice!?

That's what I was thinking. He claimed it happened during shipping. What are the odds of that? Like a million to one? I was very angry with him on the phone today. So much that he paid for shipping back, gave me a refund when I dropped it off at UPS and gave me the 10 dollar swappa fee too. All that right there tells me he very well knew that screen was bad. My very first ever used phone I buy and I get bitten hard. Now my money is tied up until it clears back in to my account. I'm out all those accessories I bought for that phone which if I get the X model I can use them though.

There was an honor 8 deal posted earlier today from jet.com. $226 for the 32 GB and $245 for the 64. Can't help you with the sd650 though as I have no experience. From what I understand it's a tad faster than the sd625 but not quite as power efficient.

Just my luck. I think they sold out!! Plus my refund is tied up clearing the bank right now. It probably won't show for a couple of days now. Man he did me wrong. I'm sorry but that screen damage did not happen during shipping like he claims.

Yeah and even if it did happen during shipping (which I think it didn't) that means he did a pretty crummy job packing the phone as well. At least you're eventually getting your money back. Maybe the xpera x from b&h is a good buy after all since you have all the accessories already.

Man thank you for saying that to me. I think that's what I needed to hear. I'm just so torn between going with the Xpreria and Honor right now. I guess my money being tied up for a few days is kind of a good thing as it'll allow me to think it over some more. One other phone that has just came into the mix is the regular Axon 7, but used. I wanted to stay away from used but I'm very close indeed on having enough to get this phone in like new in box used which would be kind of cool being that I already own the Axon 7 Mini. In fact I'm using it right now and it's fast become my reliable go to phone. You just get do much for so very little with the Axon 7 Mini. The same for it's bigger brother the Axon 7. I found a few on eBay that.i have contacted people over and I'm very close to being able to land one of those which I very well may do. You get a 2k full HD quad display, 5.5 inch display, 820 processor, 4k video, premium all metal build which I believe they coupled with B&W to design the phone and a ton of other flagship specs for a retail of $400 used around $275 to $300. I'm very tempted on that one even though I told myself to stay away from used phones now after being burned with this guy. No wonder he was not responsive until I bought it then became super nice after that. He was just praying I wouldn't notice which thankfully I did and for him to even try to take me makes me so mad. I kind lost my temper with him today while on the phone with him but I just got angry over me knowing he knew it as there is hardly even a chance something in shipping would make that phones screen look the way it did. What he was hoping I'd that I would stay off an all white screen but I kept seeing this haze at the bottom so that's when I decided to pull a white screen up and sure enough there it was and it was bad too. I just think that is so sorry for someone to do to another. He actually hoped that I wouldn't notice and sold me a defective phone. Which by the way ended up costing me about 75 dollars in accessories. So in the end like you said and I appreciate you saying it, maybe I should just go for the Xpreria X which by the way is on sale right now which White and silver is $229 and Black Graphite is $239. That's for a $450 dollar phone or basically these days a $350 to $299 dollar phone. It's not a bad price and like you said matches all of my accessories and on top of that the least expensive route to take. I don't know. I've got a couple days to think on it so hopefully I'll make the right decision bc I really do want another honor 8 but like now I just missed that awesome sale on jett.com for a 64g for $250!! I would have jumped on that but then again this darn guy has my money tied up in the refund process which he basically screwed everything all up for me. If not for his lying backside I'd be okay right now and I would have come out the best. Like new in box phone that was Sony's flagship in 2016 that ran a 820 processor with a nice heavy and beefy feel to it compared to the much lighter X model.

Oh I did leave him bad feedback. I definitely did that. I mean he made me want over $75 dollars for basically lying to me and knew that phones screen was defective. No way I'm buying it happened during shipping. That's not even remotely possible. That phone was clearly defective and now I loose on it. I guess I could send everything back to Amazon or just get the Xperia X model. I haven't decided yet. To be totally honest I really don't even need a new phone as my axon 7 mini is all that I need but you guys know how it is. We all like phones so it's hard not to buy another one.
