Hey all
I'm probably an oddity by today's standards,
I own a self built fast computer, a gps, a Palm Pilot, and an old dumb flip top phone.
I never took the plunge into smart devices, always seemed small and a waste of time.
I like to prowl the vast reaches of the internet at home, looking at a nice screen, in the air conditioning.
Anyway, I just bought the Nexus 7 - 8 gig. model for my wife's birthday. She has an ickphone, and is always with that bent down head doing something with it, so I decided to get something a little larger and not a prioritized piece of hardware.
Maybe her neck and eyes might thank me.
The Nexus 7 seemed fast, not overly big, and definitely portable, with just only WiFi and blue tooth.
I tried a friends ipad for a week, while it was nice to look at, it was kinda big for hand holding, more like lap nesting.
Being brought up into the computer age in the early/mid eighties, I enjoy hacking devices to do what I want them to do.
So, this is why I joined this site. I want to root this open source android, and use the hardware to its limit.
I'm sure this site will help me do this, and I can't wait get started.
Forgive my early noobness here, I will be going through a brief learning curve.
Who knows, I may even buy one for myself sometime in the future.
See ya all around the forums
