Old email syncs on delete of new - AT&T S4

Could you describe in greater detail exactly what you're seeing?

It irks me to no end and I've just gotten used to it. Prior stock email apps never redownloaded old email after new ones were deleted. I can only think that this is a change in android or something Samsung messed up when they personalized the app.
