My introduction must begin with my first computer, the IBM 7070 in 1960. We programmed it with a 7 bit paper tape by pulling the tape thru the reader, no automation.
I once programmed in 13 languages but no longer program.
I came to android because it was based on Linux and I understood that.

And now? You are like me? Blink, and you are lost. You are before my time, but I remember working with ada, R, visual basic and a few others when I was getting started.
Then I decided to make some real money because I was married and a kid on the way.
Been in construction since.
Anyway, enough about my history, enjoy your time here and remember the fun times when all was new. And sometimes frustrating.

I am having a problem navigating this forum. I noted a picture of a sports car in one post and could not find where it was posted. I am a car nut with a big collection and was interested.

There's several sports cars & cars on the "Show us your pictures." pinned thread (for Samsung Galaxy S25 Series).

Hello to you, and welcome to Android Central ! I know nothing about Android programming, or Linux, but would like to learn Linux, as we've been buying Microsoft software since 92', and so we're somewhat sick & tired of being hosed and price-gouged every year for MS's current yearly rental... for their Microsoft 365 Office —of which the annual renewal pymnt seems to come around quicker every year :(—for the basic MS Office software that you used to be able to buy, once !:~\
