Oleophobic Coating?

I am using my s22 Ultra without a screen protector because my Zagg protector was a fingerprint magnet and fingerprint detector didn't work as well.

When the phone was new I was amazed at how well it's oleophobic coating did repelling greasy fingerprints. I could easily go days without fingerprints and they wipe off with just a fry microfiber cloth.

Now I find I have to clean the screen every morning because the lower right quadrant (where I do most touches) is a big smear.

Is there any way to restore the original protection, whatever it is? I miss the nice shiny black screen before I turn the phone on in the morning.

I have never heard of a way to recoat the screen and a reason I put a screen protector on day one. The screen protector is a fingerprint magnet and always looks like it's smudged.
But twice so far dropping my device the protector cracked but not the screen. Getting older and my arthritis is getting worse so thinking of getting a smaller device.

I've never used a screen protector and haven't experienced this issue. I wipe my screen several times a day because, invariably, I'll smudge the screen with some random residue on my fingers. I clean the screen precisely because I don't want to further "grind" the substance into/onto the screen. ymmv

I purchased something off of Amazon and it felt great for about a day or two but quickly wore off. I think your best bet would be to find a decent screen protector that repels fingerprints and smudges
