In case of a tie, how will it affect the gym? Will the prestige go down or stay the same if your battling opposing team??

I've never seen a tie in a battle. Yesterday's update lets you have 6 pokemon in a same team gym battle instead of just 1. I downloaded it but haven't had a battle yet. I also noticed yet another update this morning. No idea what it is unless it's a fix for mobile data not connecting issues I read about from yesterday's update. Anybody have any idea?
