On a LG Stylo 3, how do I turn off the auto-select feature?

The green outline box jumping all over; the window( back, home, notifications, quick settings, overview, disable auto-select) popping up seemingly at random is, in a word, annoying. I had just updated several apps.
Not knowing what I did to enable this activity is frustrating. I'd love to have it just go away.
Any suggestions?
