On bricking

Hey guys!

In my ongoing struggle wether to flash or not, I have come to a question I'd like to ask you. I have good knowledge of the tech stuff, I understand the process of rooting and flashing and I'm pretty confident I could do it right. However, should I - out off sheer bad luck - end up bricking my Hero, can they fix it in a service? I'm asking this because the reason that's been keeping me from flashing is that I can't afford a new phone right now, in case things go wrong. Does anyone have any experience on this?

i don't know that they can fix it, but its always possible. if not you can always go through asurion to get an insurance replacement. i don't think bricking is that common i had not a clue when i started and i may have flashed the wrong rom and it froze or somethin but never bricked it!

The problem isn't bricking during rooting, from what I've seen, its bricking going back to unroot.
