try to call, it doesn't hurt. If not, they can sell you a clnr one, if they have any, or some other smartphone at a discounted rate which doesn't require you to reup your contract and would have a full 1 year warranty. Otherwise, you can buy used from cl or ebay, but typically no warranty, unless the buyer expressly states so.

Just call them and explain ur on/off button isn't working and u did nothing physical to it and they should send u a refurbished one. That's what I did bout a month ago and I had a launch day TB til then.

If you're rooted update cwm recovery to touch recovery. That turns phone on by just connecting to power cord. Use an app called Quick Boot to turn off or reboot or boot to recovery. Use volume rocker to wake. Use app called screen off to sleep. The only thing I need the power button for is selections in Hboot...and I don't need to use Hboot unless I install a new radio.

It is possible to root without a power button using ADB (if you're not rooted now) but you'd need help with that.

I am having the same issue. Warranty expired a few weeks ago and I do not have insurance. Went to Verizon store, they told me to try factory recent. Tried that and still doesn't work.

I am using widget locker to wake my phone and lights off to turn off screen.

I am not rooted. Any advice as to turning my phone on if it every does shut off and are there any apps that allow me to reboot in case I ever need to? I am not rooted by the way.

My credit card company does extend the manufacture warrenty by a year, but I will only get what I paid for the phone and I can't upgrade till December.

Any suggestions?

well everyone goodbye tb forums!!!

i just snagged a rezound off ebay

i loved my tb but it is time to say goodbye

hopefully the rezound will last me until something awesome comes out

Rezound is a sweet phone. I bet if you had called them to explain it they would have attempted to send you a referb. My GF had the tbolt and went through a few before they sent her a rezound as a referb. Could have saved you some cash.

I tried, they would not budge.

Talked to 2 different reps.

They suck, and now with the new data plans I will definitely be shopping around in November
