On Samsung Note 5, how to change from 5GHz to 2.4GHz?

On the Note 5, when you go to the WiFi settings, and search option does not bring up the 2.4 GHz option, only other devices.

Make sure you have different SSIDs for the two - maybe _2 and _5 at the end. Then you'll be able to choose the one you want. (You don't choose the frequency, you choose the SSID.)
