I am not sure if this is happening because I am a few minutes early or Verizon is just not offering any free items.

Maybe you are early? I noticed on AT&T's site it's up for preorder but if you click it, it doesn't do anything. A little early I guess.

I am actually ready to check out. When I went to upgrade and went to the Samsung phones, this was on page 2.

I went ahead and ordered it, I can't imagine getting lost in the system or anything, and Samsung has a promotion site up.

Usually the carriers never hand it out at checkout -- for any free stuff I have gotten I always went through the Samsung website. Including the Netflix 1 year deal that T-Mobile has offered a few times so I really wouldn't worry about not seeing it at checkout.
