Not the worst I've ever seen but bad. My wife dropped her Thunderbolt out of her purse yesterday.

yikes! what did she drop it on? I've dropped my phone about 10x now and not a scratch on it, but I have a case on mine. concrete, asphalt, carpet, tile floor... my phone has come out without any damage. probably because of my case.

This was concrete. But it only fell about 2 feet. The screen is still responsive but it would drive me crazy looking at that.

She had a case but decided to use the extended battery and hasn't got a case for it.

I did that also and, of course, I also dropped my phone about 4 feet. Luckily it hit the side and I have some deep incisions in the frame, but the screen is fine. I wouldn't mind my Thunderbolt breaking into a billion pieces, though; I'm all about the Nexus at this point.

no case + the big extended battery = destruction

Iv had a case and screen protector on mine since it came out of the box. had a few face down drops on concrete and not even a ding..well except for my cats teeth marks on the upper right hand corner of the bezel
(phones not cat proof just an fyi)

you should see about a replacement.
the galaxy nexus should be coming out soon ;)

good luck

Mine had a spill in June. Just got done running a race, and it was on the kitchen counter (w extended battery) while I went to go get my case for it. My lovely cat decided to drop off the counter and onto the floor. Have a nice two nice cracks towards the top but it is still usable.

Waiting for the nexus to have a non-cracked phone. Anyone want a cracked thunderbolt?

I do! :D

If you're comfortable cracking open the phone for repairs, a replacement TBolt digitizer runs around fifty to sixty bucks.

We have insurance on it. Probably will just spend the $100 and do a claim on it. Offer to find her a different phone on craigslist but she loves her Thunderbolt.

You should get an extended battery case for the replacement. :)

I use the Seidio Active case when I have the extended battery installed. It was about twenty bucks from Amazon.

I was at Verizon yesterday with my daughter which has a cracked screen on her TBolt also. I mentioned to the girl that her screen was cracked. She told me this (which I don't think is true), she said taht indurance won't cover cracked screens....again, I think that is a bunch of crap because I sent my other phone back for cracked screens.

I told my daughter, well, "make a claim for water damage and when you get the replacement phone and it is working.....we will drop your old one in the toilet". But, before I went to that extreme, I would get to the bottom of the insurance thing.

Also....COOL.....look into a local cellphone repairer. There is one by my house that charges about $100 for parts and labor. If you go that route, you will get to keep your phone and not get a refurb.

VZW's Asurion insurance does cover cracked screens. What is "indurance"?

Insurance covers cracked screens. I dropped my tbolt and it landed on a corner. And had a crack going from top right to bottom left. And I was pissed. Sad. Depressed. So I shot it and put it out of its misery. Jk. But that crack costed me 100 bucks and that's it.

My phone gets dropped, it happens we move on. My business phone (iPhone) dropped once and the screen shattered on the corner. T-Bolt screen has dropped with and without a case (now case never comes off because i found one i like) and the screen is perfect.
