Hey everyone, my wife and I just got new M9's on sprint last Monday. Thought everything was going fine but then I noticed that whenever I was on LTE a lot bof my apps wouldn't work. I can watch Netflix and use tweetcaster, but a lot of other apps won't work(facebook,Pandora, and google now I can search but if i try voice recognition it says it can't connect to the server). Everything works fine on 3g and Wi-Fi. I have done speed tests of the LTE and they are always at least 7mbps down and 2 up. Have tried clearing data/cache and uninstall/reinstall of apps and still nothing. But it's not just my phone it's my wife this is happening on also. Any help would be appreciated cause I can't figure it out. Thanks everyone!

Question, when you're trying these apps, do you notice the connection type switching. For example, it keeps swapping back and forth from 3G to 4G or even dropping the connection entirely? Also do you experience these same problems using a web browser or YouTube?

Nope stays in LTE no bouncing around. I can search the web just fine it seems like. YouTube app seems to work fine

Another question, if you switch the network mode to CDMA only and connect to facebook and then switch the network mode to CDMA/LTE or automatic, will facebook or the other apps continue to work?

Seems like in CDMA only it works fine. Once I switch to LTE/CDMA it stops. Just tried it and it stayed in 3g and things stopped working

So do you get a force close message or does it just say can't connect to network for those apps?

The problem is with the crappy Sprint network. I have been with them for almost 5 years and will be gone come October when my contract is up. I have the same problem the OP has with my M7. Whenever the phone says 4G or LTE the data fails half the time. The phone just sits there trying but doesn't get anywhere on the Sprint network. If I force the phone to 3G or CDMA I don't have a problem. There are numerous complaints in the Sprint community forums about this with numerous different phones. The problem is not with your phone. It is with Sprint.

Did u update your PRL? And also ur Profile? Are ur SIM cards in there. I don't have an issue, and ya have a One M9 on Sprint also.

Just seems like something isn't handing off LTE right in the phone or something. It's only certain apps but if others aren't having problems it can't be the app. I'm confused.

That's really weird. I don't lose LTE much here in Dallas. I wonder if it's just the location. What about when ur out? Still the same? Possibly a factory reset might work? I know when I first got mine, customer service had to do alot to get it fully activated on there network. Guess something happend with the online phone activation that messed it up.

I haven't called sprint yet to see if they can fix but this is happening to lots of people on sprint. No posted fixes anywhere. Location doesn't matter. I'm hoping for an ota fix soon.
I don't lose LTE always have a strong connection. Just some apps don't use it. Keep trying to load but never do. Its odd

For me on Sprint my connection just bounces around a lot. Sometimes i fall off the grid completely and lose everything, even cellular signal. Don't know if its a Sprint problem or a M9 problem. Haven't experienced what you are experiencing yet though.

Yeah, with sprint you either have a great connection, or nothing.

It's a Sprint problem. Happens with my M7 also.

My M8 works great on Sprint. The only hand off issues I have are when I am between WiFi and LTE, sometimes it won't let go of the WiFi. Disable the Sprint Data Connection Manager and see if that helps.

1) Try going to another location and connect to another tower with 4G. Does it still happen?
2) Try updating profile.
3) Try a cache wipe in recovery.
4) Uninstall and re-install the apps that are giving you issues.
