One (just one) of my 740+ Exchange contacts acquired a face icon (her real picture). Cool. But, where did it come from? I didn't do it. How did it get there? Is there any way I can tell where it came from? The contact is not linked to any other contact. When I look at my contacts (people, menu, view) I have only Exchange contacts. No Google,, no SIM, no Phone. I have never singed in to Facebook or Twitter.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me too. Only one of my contacts mysteriously aquired a picture, nobody else has a picture. This happened a week ago, and I was really puzzled by this. I deleted the pic, and this hasn't happened again. Weird.

Here's my .02, maybe she upload a new Facebook photo or a Google profile pic. You phone just pulled the picture from one of those sources.

After you synced your accounts from various sources, you should have gotten a notification asking you to approve some contacts that it believes are the same person and "link" the contacts. This is a feature of Sense designed to clean up your address book. Most likely the pic came from Facebook or an Google account yes I agree.

Pretty sure it's from Google as the contact probably has a gmail address or a gtalk account. The OP said they hadn't signed into facebook, so it's really the only place a pic could come from as mentioned above me.

If your contact has a Facebook account or a Google account with her phone number associated with it, that probably made the sync. But it is just my speculation.

I notice now verizonwireless is synchronize with other Verizon's phones maybe that a possiblity .

This happened on my first Droid phone I had, a contact I had popped up with a picture. When I asked that person about where the picture came from their response was "oh, that's the picture I use on Google". Also, if your on exchange and had a picture associated with a contact, your phone will pull that in once it synchs. If it was from Facebook, you would see a blue square with a white F in it down in the bottom corner of the picture.

It's definitely coming from Google. Out of the blue, the wife of one of my buddy's contact when from no pic to big pink lips.

Wife wasn't thrilled to see the lips of another woman's contact :(

Sure enough, checked the friend's wife contact online and it was the pink lips.

Yeah, probably did come from google. Although I said they were all Exchange Contacts (they are), it's because I use ActiveSync to sync my gmail account as an Exchange acct.

Thanks all...

LOL!

This same experience happened to me again a second time. A picture of my sister showed up in both my contacts and messaging. She's not even a friend on my Facebook account. What gives? This is getting irritating.

That's funny, a picture of your sister also showed up on mine!

I have the opposite problem

One of my contacts won't link to facebook -- when I try to link it, that person is not on my list of facebook friends. Any ideas? I have tried refreshing, deleting and re-adding the contact, and I also double checked they are still on my facebook.

weird. Tips?
