How......

can i stop my sms messages from scrolling the actual message across the top of the screen in the notification bar. (unread msg is fine. but dont scroll the actual text up there!!!...?1?!?1

also if the lockscreen is up it will display my message across the bottom of the screen, not that i have a missed msg BUT THE ACTUAL MSG IT SELF WTF!!1!?

pleASE someone shed some light on this and how i can dissable it. thank you.

Open messages, Settings, there is a setting called "Received Notification"; description says "Show notification in status bar when message received". Uncheck this and you will not see the message. If you turn this off, the only other way to get alerted is through vibrate or LED flash.

Hope this helps.

thank you.. but once you unclick the received notifacation box. the sound and vibrate dim so you cant choose them.

On my X, it would only say "Paul: New Message". On the Thunderbolt, I get the actual message "Paul: Hey Man". Anyway to get the X style?

The only way is to disable the notification alltogether and download handcent or goSMS. They allow many privacy options.

I use handcent and it gives the option to not show the message.

Agreed. Handcent is probably your best bet. Once you have handcent go to settings>notifications>notification settings> and there will be a privacy option. Check it and the phone will not display that information anymore.

The other solution: don't be so damn sneaky. Just tell your significant other you're cheating so you don't have to hide it anymore. ;)
