Hello everyone, I've just joined this forum now as I've searched high and low for this fault online and noone seems to have the issue I do.

Annoyingly my phone will consume all the battery when I shut it down. Now I'm not talking about excessive power usage when it's on, instead I've got 50% battery and a long drive, or time to sleep and I shut my phone down to conserve the battery. When I turn it on in 8 hours time I expect there to be a similar amount of charge left. Instead it is dead flat and I cannot turn it on until I charge it.

To shut it down I hold the power button down for 5 seconds and then select Power Off. It then shuts down.

I have Android 4.0.3, not sure what version phone.

Is there some way to turn off my phone and conserve the battery?

Thanks.

On the HTC One X, there is an option called "fast boot" in the power settings which doesnt turn the phone all the way off. I think it might be the same case here, un check it and then turn it off.

Thanks so much, I'll try that.
