Anyone else get the feeling one UI 7 isn't going to make it to the older phones. I just have that gut feeling, curious what others thinking.

I was wondering about UI 7 on the 25 version. It seems to be working good, at least for me so far. This could be one of those OS updates you want to skip on the older phones, makes me a little nervous on my fold 6, over the years I've had a couple OS upgrades ruin the phone. I'm like you, I want the phone to operate the way it should, OS updates always make me nervous it's going to screw something up.Reddit is roasting them hard because apparently the real version is months away. What's also interesting is that they claim one UI 7 is in a beta version on the S25. IDC much really. The older I get the less I truly care about having the newest features unless it's something that will truly make life easier.
I would rather skip a OS update and not have issues. I have a fold 6 and updating it to UI 7 makes me a little nervous. I miss the blackberry feature when you were able to go back to any official release, so if it did screw something up we were able to revert back.I think one time before, I remember an awaited update kept being delayed and delayed until eventually they released what was supposed to be the update to that update skipping the initial update. I thought it was 5.1 skipped for 5.2 but a search says Android 12 was the big one skipped on some devices. Whatever it was I don't remember anyone being torn up over it because we were just as happy to get the next update.
AS for One UI 7, there is only 1 or 2 new features that I'm looking forward to, the biggest one being group alarms, where you can turn them on or off as a set of alarms instead of individually. What seems to be going around on this delay is that One UI 7 seems like it was built for the S25 and isn't playing well with the S24 hardware configuration and that the features would not be the same on both devices. Which if this is truly the case I'd rather skip it anyway. I think it was Gingerbread that got a lot of complaints from people who said it broke their phone, figuratively of course. I would be disappointed if we ended up having to wait for nearly another year for a UI update but vs a phone that is buggy I'd rather wait.

LmfaoI was going to ask if anyone got beta 4..lol
UnbelievableLmfao, it was spotted on the service OneUI 7.0 Beta4, was mentioned on Twitter few days ago , So I'm pretty sure it will roll out tomorrow, Cause January 6 is when beta 3 was rolled out.
Outside of enthusiasts like those of us on these forums, I doubt if the OS version matters. The average consumer probably doesn't even know, much less care, what OS is on their phone. As we all know, Samsung deliberately delayed and postponed
the one ui 7 update because its new phone, the S25 Ultra,
was a disappointment to many. There is almost no change in
the phone except for the processor only, and what is more
annoying is the removal of Bluetooth functions from the
pen, which led to the user not upgrading the phone and
reluctance to buy the S25 Ultra. Samsung took this step to
increase sales of the S25 Ultra due to its weakness, and also
so that the user of the S25 Ultra feels that he is special by
getting the feature of the latest update only in the S25 Ultra.
This is a stupid move by Samsung and increases the anger of
users.
I'm unclear on the "enthusiast" label. many people on this site are way more accomplished than I am, technically. however, I'm the one the family comes to for "tech support." so I try to stay ahead of what problems others in my sphere are likely to encounter. I know they don't. When I talk to my friends about stuff like the OS, I get the blank stare and hear as long as I can talk, text, Facebook, and tictoc I'm good. I think @trucksmoveamerica#AC explained who isn't an enthusiast in his reply.I'm unclear on the "enthusiast" label. many people on this site are way more accomplished than I am, technically. however, I'm the one the family comes to for "tech support." so I try to stay ahead of what problems others in my sphere are likely to encounter. I'd say it's 50/50 maybe with some luck sprinkled in. I mean they already announced that the older devices were getting 7,so it isn't like they were trying to keep it from us. Even if you couldn't wait it isn't a reason to buy a whole new phone. But then made the beta happen late to justify a delay until after the S25 release, then ran into actual beta issues. I don't believe they would put out false statements about the update just to sell more S25s but the timing is kind of convenient.Lol at the conspiracy theory that Samsung has delayed the OneUI update on S24 Ultra and other phones due to S25 series
I highly doubt that's the case.
what they are doing is not communicating with their customer baseI'd say it's 50/50 maybe with some luck sprinkled in.
