I have just completed my first week with the Verizon HTC One and here is what I think...
WOW! I don't compliment lightly (especially being a former Thundercrap owner) but this thing ROCKS! Here's my take:
1. I was able to use this phone outside in the bright sunlight. Repeat, I was able to use this phone outside in the bright sunlight. I used the highest setting. I was so impressed I did everything I could to find an app that I couldn't see. I texted, I took notes, I even looked at pictures in my gallery and saw the colors loud and clear.
2. I can get a signal at home where no other phone has been able to. Not my Rezound, my friends S3's, the iphones, Note 2, etc. While I still get some sketchy calls and drops and it is by no means great, it works! My standard practice was to go on call forwarding to my home phone when home to make sure I didn't drop calls. Today I had a 10 minute call before I realized it was actually working, and loud, and clear.
3. The FRONT Speakers, The FRONT Speakers, The FRONT Speakers!!! With the speaker in the back I had the choice to lay the phone on its back and not hear the rings/notifications, or to put it on the screen side (duh right) so speaker side it was. Now I can hear it loud and clear even in the other room. I use speakerphone a lot and this is awesome. I don't have to keep flipping the phone over and holding the speaker to my ear! BTW, the music sounds great coming from it (for a cell phone, lets be realistic). As a Pink Floyd fan that's my test music and it sounded great.
4. For me battery life has been great. I do see it drop a bit if I forget to turn off wifi before I leave home. I guess it keeps searching and wasting power. Otherwise its way better than my TB or Rezound were and suits my needs. I go to sleep after 12 - 18 hours off the charger with 65-85% left depending on what I do.
5. I havent used ZOES much so I cant comment yet but the regular camera finally works. On all my other HTC phones the cameras sucked. sucked. sucked. With this phone when I take a picture of the blue sky it stays blue, not purple.
6. Its BLUE! ( At least mine is, I bet your jealous yours isn't
7. And most special of all, the true value was it was $49.99 not $199.99, $250.00, $600.00, or whatever. A great phone but not worth that price. But def worth $49.99. (No rants about hidden included costs in contract, etc. please
Its not too late to hit Best Buy for this gem, Id go tomorrow if I were you!
