How do I turn on the Samsung OneDrive backup? I thought it was only available for Android 10 beta testers at this point?
I actually like the Microsoft integration. More space without having to pay for another account storage.

I also have iCloud since I have pretty much every Apple product. But I don't save my contacts and other stuff I need across other platforms there. I back up photos there just because it's one more redundant backup. But Google photos is my main one which I use across devices.I have stuff backed up to both Google and Samsung Cloud. I also pay for iCloud storage b/c I use a lot of Apple products, and I almost always end up back on iOS as my daily driver. I haven't been tempted since the Note though.
That's one of my issues. OneDrive is ugly as sin, and I don't care for the layout either. I also take the time to keep all my photos in separate albums on my devices, but OneDrive doesn't save those albums. Google Photos doesn't either.
Google drive is by default 15GB free vs onedrive's 5GB. How is it more space?
Exactly. Many of the people who don't like it, just don't like Microsoft. Since Microsoft dumped Windows Mobile, it has really stepped up its cross platform game. Microsoft realized right off that instead of trying to compete in a saturated market, it decided to leverage those markets. In other words, Nadella is going back to what Bill Gates envisioned. Microsoft software running on every computer. Now, instead of just targeting the laptop/desktop space, it is now kicking in the door for the mobile space.
I get better integration between my Surface Pro 5, Galaxy Note 10+, Dell desktop, and Galaxy Tab S5e, than I did just a couple years ago. If I were to actually measure how much into each major ecosystem I am using, it would be:
Microsoft: 90-95%
Google: 5-10%
Apple: 0-1%

I like OneDrive, I have one TB of OneDrive storage from my personal O365 account and 1 TB from my company's O365. I also have 1 TB from Google being a Google Fiber customer. I find Dropbox pretty useless these days. I have never tried the Samsung cloud.
The UI for OneDrive is fine for me. I can get my work done and I love the continual integration work with MS.
Back to my original question. Is the OneDrive integration just for Android 10 beta, or is it for everyone? I'd like to turn on OneDrive integration.
It didn't show up for me until the 2nd beta update. I thought I mentioned that earlier, but I may have forgotten. Sorry.
Thanks. No worries. I think it was mentioned in the Android 10 beta thread. I'm not an Android 10 beta tester, so I'm not following that thread that closely. When I saw this thread, I was hoping that Samsung had added OneDrive integration for us Android 9 peasants.
Dropbox for storage!I'm looking for a good cross platform backup solution. I don't like OneDrive at all.
Hang on, I have a personal OneDrive account (since I have a personal domain, and Office 365).
How is said update different from me simply using OneDrive on my Note 10+?
Confused...
What will happen is that you can sync Gallery (photos and videos) to your OneDrive account directly instead of syncing to Samsung Cloud.

You would still need to use the OneDrive app to access other files from your phone. In a nutshell, it is doing the same thing that Google Photos does. I prefer this to Google Photos because I can access my OneDrive pictures folder from my desktop or Surface Pro without using a web browser.
Currently, it is only available in Korea and for Android 10 beta testers.
