OnePlus 7/7 Pro Picture Thread

Re: OnePlus 7 Pro Picture Thread

Although I returned mine, I did tinker with the photos a bit, and there are some adjustments in Google Photos you can make that will bring pictures closer to Pixel level as far as colors. (if they are looking undersaturated, which doesn't always happen) If you use the 'Auto' adjust in the editing screen of Photos, and then manually increase the color to max, the saturation and overall photo quality looks similar to what the Pixel puts out, to a point.

Re: OnePlus 7 Pro Picture Thread

I updated to Oxygen OS 9.5.4.

Here's two photos, one without nightscape and one with nightscape. No flash used in either photo. Same scene shot back to back.

That comparison doesn't matter too much, because the nightscape picture should always be brighter. The real comparison is nightscape before and after the update.

Already messing around with RAW in Lightroom. The sensor can really capture a lot of data and some really clean images. RAW jpg (Tapatalk doesn't allow RAW files to be uploaded) unprocessed and edited.

I think it's a much more dramatic difference than before. I don't remember nightscape improving the same scene by that much. So they're on the right track for sure.

Just curious your reasons for returning? And how did the return process go? I'm torn on if I'll be returning or keeping.

Re: OnePlus 7 Pro Picture Thread

The portrait shots come out with a lot of haze and softness which can be corrected. Hopefully future updates address that. Before and after edits.

I really find the blur levels to be really realistic looking though and not so obvious like other phones.

I was having the phantom touch issue and some other serious touchscreen issues. (double tap to wake stopped working completely for most of a day) My return was through tmobile so super easy.

Captured a dragonfly sitting still for a while today. Edited in Lightroom.

Re: OnePlus 7 Pro Picture Thread

Sometimes the camera just misses the mark with miss focus or smeared details in finer items. This one passes the zoom in test with sharpness even at high zoom. While it's slightly under saturated that can be fixed easily in post. The sharpness and smearing, when they occur can not.

Re: OnePlus 7 Pro Picture Thread

Well the phone most certainly passes the versatility test for me even without the update. I don't need the best camera. I just need something that can take nice photos when I need it. That's a check.
