Hi, my phone is able to connect wireless to Android Auto but the wifi stays connected to the car or motorbike (Carpuride system) when i shutdown the car or bike. Then impossible to disconnect it form the car's wifi even if the car is stopped and wifi is shutdown. The only solution is to reboot the phone. After i can connect again.
But the issue appears each time i make a stop, shutdown the car or the bike, and when i restart the phone doesn't want to connect again to Android Auto because it has kept this previous connection to the car's wifi and this connection is like it was frozen. Need to reboot again the phone, and i can connect !
Android Auto version is 15.5.654214 and my playstore doesn't offer any option for updating, it says its uptodate.
Android is version 13

Edit : i already have reinstalled my android on the phone, it solved the issue but after some time the problem came again. Now i tried just to delete data and cache for Android Auto and it solves also the issue but not sure how long it will last.

Any idea will be welcome....

At start i thought the issue was with my car vecause its a new one, DACIA Duster model from 2024 just launched. But quickly i saw that the same issue was occuring with the motorbike so it seems that its more an issue with my phone.
To be known also, this phone has been boght on Ali so it cam directly from China, International Version normally, but it could have some links with a China version, i don' know. Everything works perfectly with this phone, but only Android Auto has these big issues.

It sounds like you haven't had to do anything since you cleared the cache and data for the AA app, so let's see if the issue returns. Who knows you may have solved the issue.

Do you regularly restart your phone? Restarting your device regularly usually keeps caches clear for the device and its apps. Regular restarts are also good for your device in general and only has to be done once a week or so to be effective.

Is this a new device for you? Has this always been the case or did this recently start? If it recently started it could have been caused by an update to the app or the device. Often clearing the cache of the device and/or the app clears up any bugs caused this way. So again you may have solved it with your cache wipe from before.

If it does return, try clearing the partition cache of the device. Here are the steps to do that.
  1. Power off your OnePlus Ace 2 Pro completely.
  2. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time.
  3. Release both buttons when the OnePlus logo appears.
  4. Choose your language from the recovery menu.
  5. Tap on "Wipe data and cache".
  6. Select "Wipe cache".
  7. Confirm by tapping "Yes".
  8. Select "Reboot" to restart your phone.
Let us know what you find.

Hmm, thanks, but i tried your process and i got 3 options at the step 5 :
- Format Data
- Reboot device
- Power Off
If i try Format Data it ask me to confirm for reste all user data ...
So cancel, not sure if its the right option...

Has it failed since your last update? I'm hoping you got with your previous actions. In the meantime, do you regularly restart your phone? Is this phone new to you? Did this issue just start? Has the issue returned since your last update where it was working?

I bought this phone in September 2023. But on a website called Bluediode in fact, coming from China, and they say for ROM : Original chinese version multilanguage, unlocked for international.
It has worked fine since the start but i got an Android Auto only last year and there i discovered these issues.
SInce these issues i do reboot it very often to solve the issue, but normally, before i was not rebooting it.
Since the last data / cache clearing i had again an issue yesterday with my Motorbike Android, i was unable to connect it for all the road. But on arrival i saw that the wifi was disconnected, which looks good compared to previous behaviour.
Need to continue using it to understand if its the same issue coming back.

Other complexity with the motobike is the dual connection with the Carpuride hosting Android Auto and the SENA voice system in the helmet.

If i use only phone + helmet i will have a bluetooth connection from phone to SENA in the helmet.

But if i use Carpuride with Android Auto, then SENA should connect to Carpuride and Carpuride to the phone via Wifi and Bluetooth. But often if the helmet is active before Carpuride i end with 2 bluetooth connections on the phone, one with SENA and one with Carpuride, and there also i have issues, audio link with helmet doesn't work... But that's another issue i think.

So, i confirm that the issue is back again.
Smal drive with my car, at start android auto launched perfectly. Then i made a stop. get out of the car. Get back in, start the car, no android auto in the car. If i try to launch it the car says connect the phone. If i connect the phone it says already connected. if i try to cut wifi or bluetooth on the phone, menus are freezed, impossible to do anything on them.

Sorry to hear that your issue has returned. This could mean that the issue is being caused by another app but unfortunately the way we often test this won't work for you because you cannot use AA in Safe Mode. I've attached a video, please try to clear the partition cache again.

Do you have any Saver apps? Memory Saver, Data Saver, Battery Saver?

Something to try would be to connect to the car or bike, disconnect, if the phone does not switch, restart the phone, connect again, and then disconnect. Does it work after a fresh restart and nothing else?

Let us know what you find.

When i try to clear the partition cache, following the video, i get this screen talking about Format Data and not wipe data and cache.

But one thing to know is that this phone should be on OxygenOS which the android top layer provided by Oneplus for Europe or World out of China. But for me i see ColorOS which is the chinese top layer from Oneplus for China, but also OxygenOS in a submenu after the one showing ColorOS.

If i click on the blue button showing ColorOS, then i see this :

So.... am i relying on a chinese OS or on the OxygenOS ?
And maybe all these issues are linked to a chinese version ?
Should i try a migration from ColorOS to OxygenOS ? (as explained in XDA forum ?)

If you go to settings>apps>Android Auto tap>upper right corner tap and uninstall the update just don't let the play store automatically update. Does it work better on the previous version?

i did the uninstall of last version, and now Android Auto shows with version 1.2.536000-stub, i will test and give the feedback here.

But do you know if i am running ColorOS or OxygenOS as it is showing both of them ? (cf previous post with images)

Test done in my car but it was not working again, even after the downgrade of version...

And i am still trying to understand which OS version i am running....

yes looks like, but as it says also OxygenOS on the second screen, that's really strange....
but i am almost convinced that these Android Auto issues are linked to the chinese version of this phone...
